                        Episode 6:
               "The World is Going Insane"

"Insanity."
   "What, my lord?"
   "Insanity."  DragonDogi spoke to Nikita.  "Obviously, the TotanRanger 
battle team are humans, who have extremely fragile minds, so obviously, all we 
need to do is crush their minds!"
   "Insanity."  Nikita thought and nodded.  "It would work.  We'll need a 
powerful Virus MonsterMan to do the job."
   "I happen to have the Virus Monsterman for the job."  Matchmorou announced.  
"I would like you all to meet ViroMindWarp."
   The three looked upon the new robotic creation.  He wore the same kind of 
armour all the Virus Monstermen wore, but his arms were replaced by powerful 
weapon barrels.  A red zigzag pattern was on his chest against a white-and-black 
grid.  He wore a reflection mirror headband and his mouth was covered by a 
white kerchief.
   "Excellent."  DragonDogi viewed the large mechanical being.  "But how will 
the Rangers decide that this is not a sneak attack?"
   "Simple."  Matchmorou said.  "I have built this monster the same way I 
constructed the basic ViroParasite (which still today resides in one of the 
fallen Knights of Baros 9.  He will be able to use his MindWarper ray from 
INSIDE, causing the Rangers to go insane BEFORE they transform."
   "This plan is truly remarkable."  DragonDogi said gleefully.  "Matchmorou, 
you have managed to take your increadible genius one step further."
   "I will play host for the parasite."  Nikita said.  "I can close enough to 
them to infect them with this enemy."
   "I am afraid you cannot do that."  Matchmorou said.  "The ViroParasite 
buildup within him will kill the host in a matter of hours, even after it is 
removed."
   "Abduct one of the Rangers' friends."  DragonDogi ordered.  "He can easily 
spread the insanity virus, not just to the Rangers, but the entire school!  
And the infections shall continue, and the world will go INSANE!"

Charlie Hunter strode through the Valencia park on his way to school.  He saw 
other students heading to school as well.  _Just as well._  He thought.  _Good 
route.  Nice day.  And no TotanRangers in sight._
   Suddenly, Nikita and several Vinadiums appeared in the park, directly in 
his way.  The other bystanders just rushed off or tried to get to safety.
   "I knew it was too good to be true."  Charlie said as he took a karate 
pose.  Nikita just laughed at this.
   "My dear boy..."  She said, "you do not even know why we're here."
   "It would probably be safe to assume it's not good."  Charlie said.  "So 
whatever it is you want, forget it!"
   Nikita wasn't listening to him.  She just stepped up closer.
   "You have been selected by Warlock Commander DragonDogi under the orders of 
Supreme Lord Shadow to be the host of what will be the end of the human race."  
She told him.
   Charlie just took another stance and looked the Vinadiums head-on.  "Sooner 
to die."
   "I'm afraid you won't be that lucky."  Nikita said.  "Vinadiums, attack!"
   Charlie stepped out of his pose and started fending off the Vinadiums.  He 
really didn't know karate real well, but he had seen the TotanRangers once in 
a while and he felt he could pretty-much ad-lib the rest.
   Three Vinadiums approached from three O'clock.  Charlie side-kicked the 
three and they fell back.  Another group tried 6:00, but Charlie roundhoused 
them, then went up in arm-to-arm against the group at 10:00.  That was a 
problem.  The 3:00 Vinadiums got back up and attacked him from the rear as the 
Vinadiums in front of him made theirt move.  Charlie was shot back against the 
back Vinadiums and landed half-concious in the grass.   Three Vinadiums (the 
group from 6:00) held him down as Nikita approached him.
   "Good show, Hunter."  She said, "but too bad it didn't avert your new 
destiny."
   Nikita placed a machanical arachnid (a much smaller version of ViroMindWarp, 
no doubt) onto his forehead, and as Charlie tried to push it off while 
struggling to free himself from the grasp of the Vinadiums, the arachnid sank 
into his skull.  Charlie let out a horriffic scream.

At CrossPoint High, Drake put his headset on and sat down in one of the plush 
chair/cushions that littered the Student Commons area.  After insterting in a 
tape labeled SOUL SURGEON, he took out one of his notebooks from his bookbag 
and began writing a paper while listening to rock music.  He began to softly 
hum to the instrumental works.
   "Hey Drake."
   Drake turned to his right and slipped off his headphones (with the music 
still playing) and responded to Jessica.
   "OK, you gotta tell me how you do that."  Drake said.
   "Do what?"  Jessica asked.
   "That sneaking up on people."  Drake said, turning off his walkman.  "It's 
freaky."
   "It's not freaky."  Jessica said.  "It's just new.  You probably didn't 
hear me anyway, with that music blaring."
   Drake sheepishly smiled and busied himself.

"Victory is ours."  DragonDogi said.  "With the ultimate plan underway, we 
shall be able to destabilize the entire PLANET within one week!"
   Matchmorou was also joining in the festivities, but he felt it necessary to 
interrupt.  "But the Virus has not yet been spread too far."  he said.  
"Barely anyone has it."
   "Give it time."  Nikita said.  "Hunter is everywhere.  He will do what your 
Viruses could not."
   "Let's pop the champage, shall we?"  DragonDogi asked.  "We shall surely 
win."

Charlie woke up fully and found himself in his street clothes.  After 
wondering what he was doing fully dressed, he then wondered why he was in the 
PARK, of all places.
   Charlie rubbed his forehead while putting his brown hat on.  Something 
didn't feel right.  But he knew he had to head off to school.  He checked his 
watch, but it was broken.
   _How did that happen?_  Charlie asked.

By the middle of the day, the five Ranger teens had convened for lunch.  Drake 
noticed Matt and Kary rubbing their own foreheads.  Drake noticed he was 
getting a small headache as well.  He wondered if it could just be something 
going around.
   "You guys all right?"  Drake asked.
   "Feel odd."  Matt said.  "You?"
   "Yeah."  Drake responded, kind of oddly.
   Just then, Charlie Hunter came by, his head pounding and his trademark hat 
missing.  He was walking unusually and was staring straight ahead.  he was 
definitely having trouble walking.
   "What's wrong with you?"  Kary asked.
   "I dunno."
   It was apparant that he had difficulty speaking clearly and he headed off 
rubbing his head.
   Suddenly, there was a small beep and Drake brought up his wristwatch near 
his face.  "Go ahead."  Drake said.
   "Rangers,"  Franklin's voice came through the intercomm, "A new Virus is 
attacking the city and causing new mass hysteria."
   "We're on it."  Drake said.  He led the five to an isolated hallway 
inbetween the cafeteria and the school hall.
   "Become Alien!"  Kary said.  "Turn Totan!"
   The five took their left wrists (which had the Alternaters on them) and 
crossed their arms, then jammed their right wrist to the side and dialed in 
the appropriate code.
   Drake was instantly sucked into a black void with a green background grid.  
 The red spandex suit appeared on him, and as the camera closed back, he X-ed 
 then released his arms, sending energy surges into the others, transforming 
 them into their costumes.

"Soon the entire world shall be insane!"  ViroMindWarp chanted as he viewed 
the citizens of crosspoint going at it against each other.
   DragonDogi and Nikita also stood by and viewed the world slowly turn 
insane.  Charlie had been rid of the internal parasite but was still feeling 
the insanity as he began convulsing.
   "Soon the world shall become insane, and we will be able to destroy them!"  
DragonDogi laughed harshly.
   "Don't get your hopes up!"  Drake's voice said.
   The five spandex-suited Rangers posed on top of a building.
   "ALIEN TASK FORCE-- TOTANRANGER!"
   MindWarp shot a ray of green from his headband and the rangers double- 
flipped over to the ground to avoid the blast.
   "Let's go team!"  TotanRed said while posing.
   MindWarp shot the rays again and hit the Green and Blue Rangers, causing 
them to plummet back.  Gettin up, they began shaking and moving unusually, 
then they janned and lashed out and attacked the others.
   "What are you doing?"  TotanPink asked.
   "This!"  MindWarp shot at them, causing explosions to ricochet off of the 
Rangers.
   The rangers rolled down on the sidewalk, and steam began rising from the 
ruptured uniforms.
   "This guy is good!"  TotanBlue said.
   "Vinadiums, attack!"  Nikita called out.
   The rangers headed off against the Vinadium warriors, but were having 
trouble keeping up.  They were forgetting their attacks, messing up simple 
kicks, but they soon managed to fend off the grey army.
   "I think it's time for Dominant Weapons."  Totanred said.
   The five pulled out their weapons and aimed them at MindWarp.
   "Let's take this nutjob!"  TotanPink said.
   "It's mind over matter, Rangers, when are you going to learn that?"  
MindWarp shot out his rays and the weapons began shifting and twisting out of 
shape.
   "Whoa!"  The Rangers exclaimed.
   "Let's get the mecha!"  TotanRed called out.  "Go!"
   The five mecha launched themselves out of their secret holding bay in the 
desert and headed for the battle site.
   "OK, Rangers, let's do it!"
   The five rangers took turns leaping into their ship robos and took into an 
attack formation.
   "You really think that will help you?"  DragonDogi asked.
   MindWarp enlarged himself and faced off against the machines.  He shot the 
ray at the flying machines and they tried their best to veer out of the way.
   "MECHAMERGE GO NOW!"
 The Rescue MechaTron's wing folded up and the engines hit the sides of the 
 ship, making a large bulk.  The Nitro MechaTron's wings flew off and the 
 engines linked up at each side of the rescue MechaTron.  The Yellow  Defender 
 and Green Enforcer simultaneously morphed to legs complete with  feet.  The  
 rocket rings slid down to the theoretical cuffs.  The Leader  MechaTron 
 neared the end of the Rescue MT, then turned sideways and an  armoured face 
 came out, then linked to the Rescue MT.  Then the entire  Dominant MechaTron 
 is formed.  The Five rangers appear in the command post of the Dominant 
 MechaTron at appropriate consoles.

"Let's go!"  TotanRed called out.
   DMT flexed into a battle pose as MindWarp prepared to charge him.
   "Hrunting!"  TotanPink yelled out and pressed the appropriate console.
   DMT drew his increadible sabre and prepared to attack the Virus.  Mindwarp 
took the first jab and punched right into the centre of MechaTron's chest, 
causing the robo to lurch foreward.  In the control room, the team battled the 
resulting sparks.
   ViroMindwarp shot out several energy bolts at the automaton, sending sparks 
everywhere, severely disrupting the operations of the mecha.
   "Now it's our turn!"  TotanBlue yelled out and activated the console.
 DMT drew his sabre in front of him and it glowed bright yellow.  He turned it 
 another way and it glowed yellow.  As the background began moving  fast and 
 the robo was left bahind, it slashed it's sabre through the air and a large, 
 powerful electrical slash directly at the offender.

MindWarp flet the direct impact of the balst and fell forward.  When he hit 
the ground, hard, it was destroyed.  DMT posed with his sabre as the town's 
citizens began to return to normal.  The five Rangers leaped out of their robo 
and posed in a dominant manner on the top of a large town staircase as the 
Vinadiums evacuated the scene.
   "Good work, TotanRangers!"  TotanRed said.

The next day at High School, Charlie came into the hall rubbing his head and 
wearing a  new watch, not remembering anything about the previous day's 
events.
   "Man, that insanity thing was hyped."  Jessica said to Drake.  "I actually 
felt I would actually CRACK right there in the battle sight."
   "It really felt weird."  Matt said.  "But it was kinda neat."
   "We went insane."  Drake said.
   "So was Franklin able to catch the host for the insanity virus?"  Kary 
asked.
   "No."  Jessica said.  "That's bad."
   "Hey, Charlie?"  Kary came up to charlie and accidently held his shoulder.  
"You OK?"
   "Yeah."  Charlie said, having no idea what she was talking about.  "Why?"
   "You went insane yesterday,"  Kary told him, "along with, like, half the 
population."
   "I don't remember that."  Charlie said.
   "Well, will you be OK?"  Kary asked.
   "Yeah."  Charlie said.
   "Good."
   Kary headed off and Charlie grabbed one of his AP books.  _This place is just getting wierder and weirder._  He thought.

NEXT TIME ON TOTANRANGER...
After a total onslaught of Ranger work,  human work, schoolwork, and so forth, 
the Rangers head off to enjoy themselves in the woods.  However,  will they be 
able to survive after  ViroVaccuum sucks the atmosphere away ?   Find  out  in 
TotanRangerÕs next blockbuster episode;  "Oxygen Level:  Zero !"
