                                Episode 5:
                       "A Large Case Of Arachnophobia"

"Well, the modifications on your mecha are complete."  Professor Franklin
said.  Franklin and Drake were at work at NOVA, trying to modify their
never-used mecha, but Franklin suspected more was at work here.
   "How will these modifications work?"  Drake asked.
   "Well,"  Franklin explained,  "Each of your mecha will be able to convert
to a specific body part, and they can all fuse together to form one larger
robot, the Dominant MechaTron."
   "Dominant MechaTron."  Drake said to himself.  "Cool."
   "I'm sure you didn't come all the way to NOVA to see your shuttle."
Franklin said.  "What's on your mind?"
   Drake propped himself against a console.  "It's kinda obvious we'll be
working together for a while."  Drake began.  "And based on all you said about
NOVA, I have some questions."
   "Such as?"  Franklin asked, not liking where the conversation was going.
   "Well, do you have a family?"  Drake asked.  "I mean, I've seen you and
sometimes you seem like there's something... missing."
   "I did have a family."  Franklin said.  "But it was a time ago."
   "What happened?"  Drake asked.
   "I'm not at liberty to discuss that here."  Franklin said.  "Anything
else?"
   "Well, I was going through the TotanRanger files and I saw these plans for
a sixth machine.  What was that?"
   "That was nothing."  Franklin said.  "We thought we had purged that file."
   "You didn't.  So, what is it?"

Erika teleported to the insectarium at the High School with the human version
of DragonDogi in tow.
   "What are we doing here, Nikita?"  he asked.
   "My name's Erika on Earth.  And yours is Ryan."  She said.  "I was going
through this and I found something to use against those Totanrangers."
   Erika found a transparent glass box with a hairy yellow tranantual inside
it.
   "A major case of Arachnophobia."  She said.
   "Excellent."  Ryan said.  "Let us have Matchmorou make a monster out of it
to destroy the TotanRangers."
   "A ViroTranantula."  Erika thought.  "I like it."

"An ARMOURED Tranatula?"  Matchmorou gulped.  "I've never operated on a living
lethal creature before!"
   "But you can do it, can't you?"  DragonDogi asked in a commanding tone.
   "Of course."  Matchmorou grabbed several of his tools and blueprints.
"I'll get to work right away."

As Kary got her books out of her locker, a slightly distressed Charlie Hunter
ran up to her.
   "Hey, have you seen Billy?"  He asked.
   "Who's Billy?"  Kary asked.  "New student?"
   "No."  Charlie answered.  "The school tranantula."
   Kary shivered at the thought.  "I'd definitely remember THAT.  Haven't seen
him.  But I'd get him back if I were you."
   "You're telling me."
   Charlie headed off as Matt came up.
   "Hey, Kary, did you hear about the missing spider."
   "Just now.  Man, that is CREEPY!"
   Just then, the principal's voice came over the PA.  "Attention, Students.
There are reports of an armoured insect attacking the city, near this area.
We are required to temporarily evacuate these premisies..."
   As the Principal's voice rambled on about evacuation, Matt and Kary headed
off.

ViroTranantula growled as the five TotanRangers arriving at the battle scene.
   "Man, that is ONE ugly bug!"  TotanBlue said.
   "Man, I am having Arachnophobia right now!"  TotanPink commented.
   ViroTranantula spat venomous acid at them.  The five managed to roll away,
but leaving some of the steaming acid.
   "Whoa!"  TotanBlue said.  "This stuff reeks big time!"
   "Let's squash this bug!"  TotanGreen said.  "BattleAxe!"
      TotanGreen held his BattleAxe and the razor edge began glowing.  He then
   swiped it forward hard, causing green lightning to come forth.

"It didn't hurt him!"  TotanGreen exclaimed.
   "No, and now nothing can!"
   Matchmorou had teleported to the site and activated the MegEnlargers and
transformed ViroTranantula into MegaTranantula.
   "This is the first bug that could suash US!'  TotanYellow commented.
   MegaTranantula headed off for the city to wreak destruction upon the
buildings.
   "How are we gonna stop that thing?"  TotanYellow asked.
   "I'll show you how!"  Totanred said.  "Nova Command:  Mechatron NOW!"
      The five TotanRobos powered up under their own power as the bay doors
   opened.  As they finished, they all lifted off in order.

"Let's go!"  Totanred yelled, leaping up into his shuttle.

MegaTranantula felt the need to crush more buildings with his increadible
claws.  Citizens had to run and dodge to avoid getting crushed by the
unusually large insect.
   "Nothing can stop MegaTranantula."  DragonDogi grinned.  He and Nikita had
teleported to the city to watch the destruction.
   "This is certainly better than that ViroTitan."  Nikita said.  "An arachnid
is certainly a better weapon."
   "Indeed.  Remind me to thank Matchmorou for creating such a fine creature."
DragonDogi felt unusually happy, a feeling he was not used to having.  "I
cannot believe it.  Gigantic spider rampaging across the city, and no Totan
Rangers in sight."
   "Look again!"  Nikita yelled.
   They looked up.  The Mechatron Cruisers flew loudly over the cityline and
headed for MegaTranantula.
   "The TotanRangers!"  DragonDogi growled.  "Tranantula!  Finish them off!"

Inside the Mechatrons, the Rangers were getting used to the controls.
   "OK, Rangers."  TotanRed said through the Helmetcomm, "we're coming up.
Attack formation C-Q!"
   The ships seperated and fired weapons at MegaTranantula.
   "Let's get this guy!"
   Totanred's shuttle blasted several shots in a nose-dive formation, buut
MegaTranantula managed to lash the shots against him.
   The Yellow Defender and the Green Enforcer flew side-by-side and shot their
weapons against the MegaTranantual, who was unable to fight the blasts.
   "Good shot!"  Totanred congradulated them.
   TotanPink fired missiles at MegaTranantula, who took a swipe and punctured
one of her wings.
   "Whoa!"
   "Hold on, Kary."
   The Nitro MT flew gracefully between two tall buildings and then fired
crusher missiles.  The Tranantula was only mildly stunned.  He swiped at the
Nitro MT, causing him to carreen through space.
   "We're running out of power!"  TotanBlue yelled through his comm.  "What do
we do?"
   "I tell you what we do!"  TotanRed yelled.  "Power up your Robo for merging
sequence!"
   In split-screen, the four other rangers exchanged equal simultaneous arm
movements and pulled levers back hard.
   "DOMINANT MECHAMERGE!  GO!"

      The Rescue MechaTron's wing folded up and the engines hit the sides of
   the ship, making a large bulk.  The Nitro MechaTron's wings flew off and
   the engines linked up at each side of the rescue MechaTron.  The Yellow
   Defender and Green Enforcer simultaneously morphed to legs complete with
   feet.  The rocket rings slid down to the theoretical cuffs.  The Leader
   MechaTron neared the end of the Rescue MT, then turned sideways and an
   armoured face came out, then linked to the Rescue MT.  Then the entire
   Dominant MechaTron is formed.
      The Five rangers appear in the command post of the Dominant MechaTron at
   appropriate comsoles.
      "DOMINANT MECHATRON, POWER UP!"

   "Let's kick some trnantula butt!"  TotanBlue said, waving his arm mancingly
from his console.
   "Attack!"  TotanRed grasped the padded control sticks with his gloved hands
and had Dominant MT face-off against MegaTranantula.
   MegaTranantula growled and slashed at Dominant MT's chest, causing sparks
to shoot out violently.
   "What a hit!"  TotanRed tried to stabalize the stand position while the
others launched into action to repair and stabalize the damage.  TotanRed
watched through the main window and grabbed his constorl sticks.  "Lightning
Lasers!"
   Lasers shot out of DMT's hands, causing MegaTranatula to cower slightly to
protect itself.  As it uncovered it's head, DMT took a major punch, severly
damaging the monster.
   "Whoa!"  DragonDogi and Nikita winced in pain as the monster was hit in the
head.
   "Let's finish this sucker off!"  TotanGreen said.
   "Hrunting!"  TotanRed called out.
      In sudden blackness, a sabre of light entered DMT's fist and it turned
   into the graceful metal body of the Hrunting Sabre.

"Let's send this sucker back to where he came from!"  TotanPink said.
   "Hrunting Swipe!"  The five Rangers called out simultaneously.
      DMT wielded the now electricly glowing sabre and raised it high into the
    air, and made a huge swipe, causing it to go straight through the monster.

As MegaTranatula fell down defeated, the Dominant MechaTron took a battle
pose, truning away from the monster just as it exploded.

"They destroyed the MegaTranantula!"  DragonDogi growled, slamming his fist on
Matchmorou's desk, crippling the electronics built in.
   "I assure you that our new Virus Monstermen will be able to combat this new
Mecha."  Matchmorou said.
   "I am TIRED of your excuses!"  DragonDogi angrily yelled.  "Your Virus
monstermen WILL destroy those Totanrangers, and if they don't, I will
personally  K i l l  you."
   Matchmorou shrunk behind his workspace as DragonDogi exitted.

Charlie viewed the small tranantula in the glass box.
   "Back where you belong."  He said.  "Well, I guess this all ended well."
   Charlie looked up at the TotanRangers, who had delivered the arachnid.  It
had turned back after it's Virus shell was destoyed by the Dominant MT.
   "How can I thank you guys?"  Charlie asked.
   "Keep that thing away from us!"  TotanPink said.
   "That's so familiar."  Charlie thought.  "Oh, well.  Thanks again."
   "Don't mention it."  TotanRed said.  "Nova Command:  TelePort TeleBeam!"
   The five rangers disappeared in showers of harmless sparks.
   Charlie waited, then looked back into the glass box.  "I don't see what
everyone's so afraid of."

Trouble  abounding  as DragonDogi decides to  use  the fragile  human  mind to 
disrupt the  Alien Battle team.   And worse yet,  will the rangers  be able to 
revive themselves after being infected by their best friend?   Be sure to find
