                            Episode 2:
                    "Elements of Destruction"

In Crosspoint High School in Valencia, Drake Swift began stuffing his binders
into his lockers, trying to make them fit, which did not.  Erika leaned
against the next locker and gazed into his eyes, but tried to not look like
she was.
   "Hey, did you hear about that attack on that construction site last night?"
Erika asked.  "I can't believe those five soldiers actually ATTACKED like
that!"
   "I heard that they saved those construction workers from those-- VIKING
people, was it?"  Drake asked, feigning stupidity.
   "I think they were called 'Vinadiums' or something like that."  Erika
responded.
   "Well, some friends of mine are gonna go out to the town centre after
school.  Are you gonna join us?"  Drake asked, trying to pry out a 3,000-pound
trigonometry book.
   "Who's going?"  Erika asked.
   "Well, it's me, Matt, Jessica, Kary, and JT."  Drake said.  "You gonna join
us?"
   "Can't."  Erika said.  "Sorry.  I gotta go."
   Erika left and then Jessica and JT came up.
   "How's it going, TotanRed?"  JT asked.
   "You know you're not supposed to call each other that in public."  Drake
said.  "What's going on?"
   "Oh, I have to head off to NOVA after school."  Jessica said.  "My powers
kinda make me lightheaded.  I'm gonna see if the professor can help."
   "So you're not coming to our little celebration?"  Drake asked.
   "I'll make it."  Jessica said.  "is it still at four?"
   "Yeah."  Matt said.  "That'll give me enough time to pick up my reserved
copy of 'Finite Fantasy VII'."
   "Are you still on about that game?"  JT asked.
   "Hey, it's gotten the greatest reviews in 'Electronic Teleplay BiWeekly'."
Matt argued.  "Of course, it's all in japanese, but that's why I've got this."
Matt showed off a blue japanese-english dictionary.
   "Is it really worth it?"  JT asked.
   "Yeah."  Matt said.  "Well, I'll see you later!"
   Matt dashed off.

"I have discovered a weakness!"  Nikita exclaimed as she burst onto the main
bridge of the Shadow Empire ship.  "TotanYellow's powers may be malfunctioning.
And if hers are, the others may follow!"
   "Excellent timing."  DragonDogi congratulated her.  "Matchmorou has finally
finished the Virus Elemental Team."
   Matchmorou waved from his workstation.
   "Now we will have the weapons in which to destroy those... TotanRangers."
A definite smile was creased under DragonDogi's hood as he chuckled evilly to
himself.

"I was afraid of this."  Franklin said as he viewed Jessica's Alternater under
an unusually large microscope.
   "It's not dangerously serious or anything, is it?"  Jessica asked.
   "Oh, no, it's only a minor malfunction."  Franklin said.  "Just some
incorrect data inputted.  Since your powers are programmed to respond to your
preset algorithms, so a minor misprint would cause the end result you
experienced."
   Jessica had not really felt the need to follow all that.  "...OK."
   "This shouldn't take too long to correct."  Franklin said.
   "Well, I was going to meet the others at the town centre."  Jessica said.
"So... may I go?"
   "Sorry."  Franklin said.  "NOVA rules.  No Totan Warrior should be severely
disconnected from their Alternaters."
   "Whatever."  Jessica said.

At the town centre, Drake, Matt, Kary, and JT shared a table at the local ice
creamery.  Drake was dribbling his basketball with his left hand while eating
a Rocky Road.  Matt was reading through his japanese dictionary in an attempt
to translate the instruction manual, not noticing his Blueberry Cone.  Kary
was the only one just simply EATING her strawberry swirl.  JT had already
pigged out on his Chocolate Sundae, and was now busy fiddling around with his
pocket video game system with internet link.
   "Godd stuff."  Drake said, twirling his basketball on one finger.
   "Let's see..."  Matt studied, "'Jin' means 'Man', so 'ZyuJin' means..."
   "Matt, will you put that away?"  Drake asked.
   "So much for a celebration."  Kary mumbled.
   JT checked the built-in watch on his video game.  "Say, where's Jesse?  She
should be here by now."
   "Well, WE are here!"  A gruff voice said.
   The four TotanRanger teens turned around and saw DragonDogi, Nikita, four
large warriors and a small army of Vinadiums.  One of the warriors was built
out of rock, another was a large wind generator, one was a man made of fluid,
and one was on fire.
   "Allow me to introduce you to the Virus Elemental team."  DragonDogi said.
He gestured to the warrior made of rock.  "ViroRock."  He gestured to the one
of wind.  "ViroWind."  He gestured to the being of fluid.  "ViroWater."  And
finally, he intorduced the mightiest of them, the one of fire.  "And their
fearless leader, ViroFire."
   "Now comin' afer you, TotanRangers!"  ViroFire said.
   "You're finished!"  ViroRock grunted.
   "TotanChange!"  Drake called out.
   The four took their left wrists (which had the Alternaters on them) and 
crossed their arms, then jammed their right wrist to the side and dialed in. 
   Two-Zero-Seven-Four.
 The five were transported into the void.  JT, Kary, and Matt X-ed their arms 
 and their armour digitized onto them.
 Drake X-ed his arms, his red armour digitizing onto him.  He spun around and 
 the grid glowed with his power.  Suddenly, the grid disappeared back into the 
 real world.
   "OK, TotanRangers."  TotanRed said, taking his position in the centre of
the team.  "Let's defend the world!"
   All hell broke loose.  The Vinadiums started attacking people at random and
the Virus Elementals started having their turns beating up the TotanRangers.
   ViroRock sent his huge hulk flying to crush TotanGreen, who rolled hard and
fast to get out of the way.  After regaining himself, he battled several of
the Vinadiums who were getting near the civilians.  ViroRock tried to crush
him again, but he flipped out of the way and the Vinadiums were crushed
instead.
   "Nice move."  TotanGreen mocked.
   ViroRock, frustrated, through himself at the Green Ranger, crushing him hard
against a wall, leaving a large hole where the Green Ranger used to be.
   "That kinda hirt."  TotanGreen mumbled.
   "So will this!"
   ViroRock violently threw TotanGreen into a display window.  The Ranger landed
hard inside the store, broken glass all over him.
   TotanPink saw her partner fall back, but she had her own problems to deal with.
namely, the ViroWind.
   "You know,"  ViroWind mocked TotanPink, "you blow me away."
   ViroWind activated his large chest fan and the force threw TotanPink into
the air, sending her back and down to a lower level, landing on her side.
   "Or maybe vice-versa!"  ViroWind added.
   "That does it."  TotanPink growled.  "Now I'm MAD!"
   TotanPink got up and leaped 40 feet into the air and prepared to kick
ViroWind, who activated his generator yet again, keeping TotanPink up in the
air.
   "I need help!"  TotanPink yelled.
   "I'm coming!"  TotanGreen called out.  ViroRock took TotanGreen's temprary
interruption as an opportunity to bash him into the wall, which he did.
   "Ung!"
   "Leave my friends alone!"  TotanBlue yelled.  He was in the middle of a
battle with ViroWater who was using his fluid abilities to stay one step ahead
of him.  TotanBlue began to leap, but ViroWater wrapped his wrist up and used
it to send him flying off, landing on top of a plastic table.
   "It's up to me!"  TotanRed figured.
   ViroFire sent a bolt of flame to burn TotanRed, who gracefully flipped out
of the way.  TotanRed leaped up, but ViroFire shot at him again, causing him
to fall out of the sky and land in a heap with the other two.
   "Drake!"  TotanPink called out.  She then stopped hovering and landed
hardly on the others.

"The guys are losing."  Jessica said.  "I have to get there!"
   "I haven't located the glitch yet."  Franklin said.  "I don't know how long
you'll last against those animals."
   "We can worry about that later, Professor."  Jessica said.  "TotanChange!"
   Two-Zero-Seven-Four.
 Jessica appeared in the void and her armour digitized onto her and glowed 
 bright white.

"I told you that resistance would be easily conquerable."  DragonDogi told
Nikita.  "Now the defenders of Earth have fallen, and our forces can now
easily overtake the armies on this planet."
   "But what of that Yellow Ranger?"  Nikita asked.  "She's not here!"
   "You said she had a glitch."  DragonDogi said.  "Why do you act so
surprised that she is not here?  She is probably hiding, fearing for her own
safety."
   "Guess again!"  Jessica's voice yelled.
   TotanYellow sped to the middle of the semi-destroyed town centre riding on
a yellow TotanRanger VikingBike.  "TotanRanger!"  She called out.
   "Get her!"  DragonDogi ordered the Vinadium army.
   The Vinadiums gathered around, preparing to jump the Yellow Ranger.
   "Dominant Weapon!"  TotanYellow called out.  "GyrateJammers!"
   TotanYellow's yellow nunchuku appeared in her hands and she managed to fend
off the attacking Vinadiums by whacking them.
   "I don't believe it!"  Nikita said.  "She's managing to fend off our armies
by HERSELF!"
   "The Earth is full of surprises, Nikita."  TotanRed's voice said.  "Get
used to it."
   DragonDogi and Nikita turned around to see the other TotanRangers standing
uninjured, each bearing their dominant weapons.
   "Hang on guys!"  TotanYellow called out.  She leaped off her moving
VikingBike and managed to land right next to the other Rangers.
   "Now let's see who's in charge around here."  TotanRed said.
   "Virus Elemental team, ATTACK!"  ViroFire called.
   The Virus Elementals took on the TotanRangers again.
   "Round two!"  TotanBlue called.  He faced off against ViroWater again.
   "You ready to use weapons?"  Virowater asked.  He formed a staff in his
hands.
   "Love to."  TotanBlue held up his LancePuncher in a similar manner.
   TotanPink and ViroWind were up against each other again.  This time,
TotanPink was smarter than to try to leap into the air.  She pulled out her
CrossFire and shot multiple laser shots at ViroWind, who struggled against
each blast.
   TotanGreen tried to use his Battle Axe against ViroRock, resulting in only
sparks.  ViroRock tried to hit him, TotanGreen led him off near ViroWater.
   "What are you trying to do, Ranger?"  ViroRock asked.
   "This."  TotanGreen kicked ViroRock HARD and he fell back onto ViroWater.
Virowater dissipated and caused Virowater to begin to sag and slowly turn to
muck.
   "Whoa."  TotanBlue said.  "Thanks, man."
   "No prob."  TotanGreen said.  "But we need to take care of Mr Soggy here."
   "I got it!"  TotanPink yelled out.  She hit laser blasts against ViroWind
while TotanBlue and TotanGreen knocked ViroRock to meet him.
   "NOW!"  TotanPink yelled.
   The three of them simultaneously kicked the Viuses into each other, causing
them to explode in a big cloud of disgusting mud, covering the three rangers.
   "This is disgusting!"  TotanBlue said.
   The three met up with TotanRed, who was battling ViroFire yet again.
   "What happened to you guys?"  TotanRed asked.
   "More than what's happening here."  TotanPink said, picking off a piece of
glop off of her arm.
   "We discovered that the Elementals would destroy each other, and we got rid
of the others."  TotanGreen explained.
   "There were only four of them."  TotanRed said.  "How're we going to
destroy THIS one if all the other ones are gone?"
   "Like this!"  TotanYellow, who had vanished to about that point, leaped up
in the air with a long fire hose and sprayed it all over ViroFire.
   "No!  I'm melting!"  ViroFire said.  "I'm melting!  Oh, what a world!"
   ViroFire exploded in a large blast.
   "Our Virus Monstermen were defeated!"  DragonDogi said.  "We go now.  But
know this, TotanRangers, we shall return, and when we do, you will all be
doomed."
   DragonDogi and Nikita teleported out and the Vinadiums retreated.
   "Way to go TotanRangers."  TotanRed congratulated the others.
   "Hey, Jesse, spray some of that over here."  TotanGreen said.

Later in the evening (after a changing), the five TotanRanger teens met up
again at Drake's house, munching down on Pisa's Pizza.
   "I guess we can finally celebrate."  JT said, chomping down on his slice.
   "Hey, Jesse, where did you get that bike, anyway?"  Drake asked.
   "Oh, yeah, the VikingBikes.  Franklin had them in reserve, he just hadn't
told us about them yet."  Jessica explained.  "We all have ones with the
appropriate powers inserted inside them."
   "Cool."  Matt said, still trying to translate his game manual.
   "What do you think the Shadow Empire will do next?  I mean, we destroyed
four warriors in one day."  Kary said.  "What they've gotta have planned can't
be good."
   "We'll be ready for them."  Drake said.  "All of us."
   "Yeah."  JT agreed.
   "Okay, I think this says 'Animal Man comes to prevent a world inside a
car.'"  Matt read.
   "Let me see."  Jessica said.  "It says 'the driving Beastman comes to earth
to protect it.'"
   The teenagers all stared at Jessica.
   "What?"  She asked.
