                                  Episode 13
                     "Deadly Strike!  The Ultimate Robot
                                Transformation"


Centuries ago, before recorded history, full elves and full humans lived side
 by side.  Humans began to fear the elves' power, and suspicions soon caused
 some all-out terror, and erupted into warfare.  The humans won and forced the
 elves into hiding.
The elves then told the legend of this story, keeping it in vocal and soon
 recorded histroy.  Centuries later, as the humans forgot about the struggle,
 some elves returned, in disguise, and lived as humans.  I'm one of those few
 descendants.

"Whatever happened to the full elves?"  JT asked.
  "I dunno."  Jessica said.  "No one does.  That's the thing.  And that's one
of the reasons that the Shadows haven't utilized their powers yet.  I'm only a
quarter elven, and they wanted by 'advanced' powers.  Imagine what they could
do with a FULL elve's powers."
  "That is scary."  Matt responded.
  "So technically..."  Drake tried to comprehend... "is... that we could be
elve relatives and not even know it?"
  "Probably not."  Jessica said.
  "Hey guys, we gotta head to school."  Drake said, checking his watch.
"Let's go."

In the Shadow Syndicate vessel, the Viruses had put the finishing touches on
their virus weapon.  They stood back and watched as the enlarged monster,
EnhanSupreme was fitted into the specially-constructed battle armour.  The
large Machineman growled and flexed it's muscles, testing their electronic
might.
  "Excellent!"  Phantom-Shadow laughed, watching the monster reaching it's
full power potential.
  "Forget that Elven female."  DragonDogi said.  "After we destroy the
TotanRangers, we'll have nothing to stop us from finding the secret Elven
hideout, then use their combined power to DOMINATE the entire quadrant."
  "Go now!"  Phantom-Shadow ordered his oversized titan "and destroy the
TotanRangers"

"What makes you think that this elven place can even exist?"  Charlie asked.
  "Think about it."  Matt responded.  "Only a few of the elves came into the
human race.  That means that the rest of them have to have had some kind of
community."
  "Think about this, Matt."  Charlie added.  "We've spent our entire youths
playing mystical RPGs like 'Cages and Quagmires', and you got so attached to
it I think you're obsessing."
  "But... they're real... and they exist..."
  "I suppose so... but if we found them wouldn't that put them in danger?"
  "If we found them wouldn't that mean we could protect them?"
  "I think the two of you are both wrong."  Drake said.  "If they exist, and
the human race hasn't found them yet, then we probably won't."
  "But what if the Shadows DO find them?"  Matt asked.
  Suddenly, the two were interrupted by the screams of fellow students.  Drake
got up and questioned one.
  "What's going on?"
  "There's that giant THING agian!"  The blonde kid said.
  "We better morph into action and stop that thing."  Drake said, and he
guided the six into an alcove.
  "Totanchange!"  The six activated their alternators.

  They all simultaneously transformed into their durable uniforms and
rematerialized at the battle site.
  "That thing is tearing up the whole city!"  TotanWhite noticed.
  "Yes, that much was evident, but let's GET TO WORK!"
  The TotanRangers all stood forward, with the exception of TotanRed and
TotanWhite, and struck the same battle pose and cried out "We need Advanced
Totan Machine Power Now!"
  The four TotanDrivers were instantly launched from their holding bay and
headed for the battle site.  The four Rangers lept into the air and one-by-one
entered their machine's cockpits.
  "Blue, coming after you!"
  "Let's get this guy!"
  "Ready or not, here we come!"
  "OK guys, let's do it."
  The four automatons posed in battle stances.
  "This guy looks like the last one."  TotanBlue noticed.  "But more
advanced."
  "Exercise caution, you guys."  TotanRed said through the comm.
  "You got it."  TotanBlue responded.
  The automatons posed and headed in.  The Blue Automaton punched, then
kicked the monster, but EnhanSupreme kicked it back, then punched the Green
Robot, which was coming on to him.  Then it used it's eye--beams to blast the
yellow and pink machines back.
  "This guy's too strong for us."  TotanPink said.  "We need to regroup."
  "Let's do it, guys!"  TotanBlue ordered.  The screen suddenly went into
four-way mode as each of the rangers appeared and simultaneously yelled
"Ultimate Robot Transformation!"
  The Pink automaton's head sank into it's body as it slipped in half and the
shoulder proetectors moved to the feet, which each became fists.
  The Blue Automaton's chest severed in half and the two segments became
shoulders.  The automatons arms slid to the side of the waist as a head
appeared from that and the legs merged together to form a chest.
  The yellow Automaton's arms folded in as it's chest became the new robot's
waist, and the legs seperated from the high waist.
  The Green Automaton severed in half and became the legs, then slipped onto
the ends of the Yellow Automaton.
  The entire machine now surged with energy as the four pilots appeared in the
cockpit.
  "Alright!"  TotanBlue said, from his command seat.  "SuperTotanMachine is
online.
  The large machine posed in the city as lightning flashes, giving it it's
signature position.
  "Let's show this guy what NOVA's mechs are made of."  TotanGreen said.
  The machine moved forward as EnhanSupreme did.  EnhanSupreme got the first
attack, and managed to land three blows against the machine's chest.
  "Man, good move.  But not good enough!  Activate TotanSabre!"
  The Dominant Mechatron's sabre appeared in a flash into the automatons arm
as it posed with it.  Then it lunged forward in attack mode and took a swipe,
missing.  EnhanSupreme took advantage of this to give it a hard elbow, and
sparks erupted from the machine's hull.
  "Man, he's good!"  TotanGreen reported from his station.  "Primary EPM
manifolds are offline!  Shields at 52%!"
  "Keep this thing steady, guys."  TotanBlue said.  "We need to get a clear
shot."
  EnhanSupreme headed forward again, but this time was deflected back by a
burst of energy from another source.  As he fell back, the Rangers could see
Dominant MechaTron standing there.
  "Thanks, man!"  TotanBlue said.
  In Dominant MechaTron's cockpit, TotanRed and TotanWhite (seated at the
TotanBlue and TotanGreen stations) were running the whole show.
  "Let's get em, Charlie!"  TotanRed gave the thumbs up.
  "Right with ya, Drake."  TotanWhite responded.
  The two autmoatons struck defensive poses as the monster started coming
blindly at them, taking a swipe and causing a large eruption of sparks.  In
the Super's cockpit, the Rangers were hit hard, and trying to regain the
machine's balance.
  "Man, let's END this!"  TotanPink almost grunted.
  TotanBlue crossed his arms "Totan" brought them to the sides of his head
"Magno" and then thrust them forward "Surge!"
  The Automaton's arms did likewise, and caused a glowing electric blue sphere
to appear in it's hands and be thrust forward at the release.  The sphere flew
forward and trapped EnhanSupreme in a bolt of energy, then erupted around him.
The monster, after a large explosion, fell to the ground and exploded again.
The two automatons posed victorious as their foe was defeated.

In Matt's bedroom, Matt sat on his floor, glumly looking through the old old
items on his shelves.
  He was sorting through what he had.  Mostly old comic books, some normal
books, old old drawings, half-bent crayons, and a messed-up cardboard carton
with the title 'Cages and Quagmires' on the cover.
  Matt sighed as he put the box in the trash, some of the old pieces and cards
falling out from it.  Matt sighed and continued looking through the old junk.
